Dear Colleagues,
It is with sincere pride and honor to announce
that our president and educational leader, Eleonor G. Castillo,
has been nominated as "Woman of the Year 2006" by Assemblywoman
Shirley Horton! I'm sure you will agree with me that this
recognition is not only well deserved, but long over due,
particularly for someone who has selflessly committed herself
to the betterment of our community! Eleonor will be flying
up to Sacramento the week after next to receive her award.
Highlights of that day will include: (1) Breakfast with Lt.
Gov. Cruz Bustamante, (2) Assembly Floor Presentation with
First Lady, Maria Shriver, and (3) Woman of the Year Exhibit
and Reception at the California State Museum. Attached is
a press release for Assemblywomen Horton. Please take the
time to congratulate Eleonor for a job well done and for putting
FILAMEDA on the map!
Sincerely,
Rey Monzon
